Privacy Policy

Trafficato ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

What we collect

Trafficato is designed to work without an account. We collect only what is necessary to deliver the service:

• Location — used on-device to determine your starting point for route calculation. Your raw GPS coordinates are never stored or sent to our servers.
• Route polyline — when you check a route, we compute it on-device using Apple MapKit and send a simplified version of that path (a series of coordinates) to our server. This is used only to check for incidents along your route and is not stored after the check completes.
• Home address — if you save a home address in Settings, it is stored locally on your device and sent to our server only when needed to resolve your route. It is not linked to your identity.

What we do not collect

• No name, email, or account credentials
• No Apple ID or sign-in information
• No persistent location history
• No device contacts, photos, or microphone access
• No advertising identifiers

Launch waitlist

If you sign up for launch notifications on trafficato.com, we collect your email address for that purpose only. We will use it to send a single notification when Trafficato becomes available on the App Store. We will not send marketing email, share your address with third parties, or use it for any other purpose. You can request removal from the waitlist at any time by contacting us at trafficato.com/support.

Advertising

Trafficato is free and contains no advertising. We do not use any advertising SDKs or tracking frameworks.

Data storage

Route check requests are processed on a self-hosted server and are not stored after the response is returned. Waitlist emails are stored by Resend in accordance with their privacy policy. We retain waitlist data only until the launch notification is sent.

Third-party services

The app and website use the following third-party services:

• Apple MapKit — used on-device for route calculation and place search. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Resend — waitlist email storage and delivery.

Children

Trafficato is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
