Trafficato is an iOS app that monitors Buncombe County dispatch for motor vehicle accidents and checks your route before you leave. It knows about accidents before your navigation app does — typically 10–15 minutes earlier.

Trafficato is currently focused on Buncombe County, NC. If you're commuting in or around Asheville, Black Mountain, Weaverville, or anywhere in the county, this was built for you.

We checked your route against active dispatch records and found no motor vehicle accidents currently logged along your path. This is based on dispatch data, not traffic sensors — so it means no reported incidents, not necessarily no congestion.

Dispatch records are updated within minutes of being logged by Buncombe County dispatch. When you tap a card, the check uses the most recent data available.

Your GPS is used on-device only when you check a route — to determine your starting point. Your raw coordinates are never stored or sent to our servers. See our privacy policy for full details.

Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner of the app to open Settings, then enter your home address. The "Heading home" cards use this address as your destination.

Yes. Trafficato is free with no ads and no subscription.

Trafficato uses Apple Maps to search for places near the Asheville area. If a place isn't found, try a more specific address or a well-known nearby landmark. If you keep having trouble with a specific destination, let us know via email below.

Because Trafficato requires no account, there's very little to delete. Route checks are not stored after they complete. Your home address lives only on your device — you can clear it anytime in the Settings screen. If you signed up for the launch waitlist on our website, email us and we'll remove you immediately.
